End of year round-up

Apologies, a little belated. It’s been a pretty busy December and I’m just catching up. Having realised I hadn’t yet posted my annual round up post I thought it was time!

A lot happened during 2019, yet seemingly not a lot happened. Overall it seemed to go pretty quickly in the scheme of things.

It was the last year of my twenties for a start… where did that go? It’s been a big decade for sure. I’ve just completed the third year at Nasstar for a start, the first job I’ve remained for this length of time since the beginning of the decade when I started out in IT. The IT industry as a whole is a volatile and fast moving industry and up until now I have found it difficult to remain in one job — either because I didn’t wholly get on with the people I worked with — or there just wasn’t any room for progression.

I had owned my own house for 5 years, and I honestly don’t know where that went either. When I first moved to Northampton in 2014, I really didn’t know anyone else other than the people I worked with, and even then I wouldn’t really call them friends. It has been difficult and a lot of the people I used to know I don’t really speak to much anymore even though in reality I’m not far away.

On the plus side I did propose to my girlfriend (finally, as she might say) but she has made me very happy.

Moving on into 2020 I can only try and be better as a person and human being, to try and travel more, and explore the world more. Time to make my 30s a good decade.

I’m thinking of doing some whiskey reviews. If anyone would be interested in hearing more let me know.

Check out this Phone Mount (Best I’ve found)

Simple, just how I like it!

I don’t know about you but I have a really hard timer finding a mobile phone mount that is both cheap and reliable. I don’t like vent mounts and I like it on the windscreen, so a good suction mount has to work. I know these tend to have problems in warm weather but I’m in the UK and only ocassionally does it hit 30c.

I’ve previously bought the Griffin WindowSeat, and when that broke last time round I bought it again, as it did the job. But now, I’m finding it harder to get hold of so had to go hunting for another. The first eBay special I came across cost around £5 and had a bunch of positive ratings, but in reality it stuck to the windscreen for about 5 minutes and I then proceed to break it by trying to get it to fit with the suction mount from my old one – that’ll teach me!

So in my effort to get a better alternative, I hit Amazon…. and found this Arteck mount. It was equally as cheap but the reviews were all good and seemed genuine.

The mount is neat and not dissimilar to my old Griffin mount, it’s been there for a week now and hasn’t fallen down yet on it’s own so it’s got to be a win! (Having just double checked the description it seems to employ the use of 3M window mount adhesive, probably the same as the Griffin as that came with spares).

Bit of a boring post, but hope it can help you out too 🙂

2013 – End of Year Roundup

This year has been one for friends, new beginnings, new projects, success and failure. But with every let down something better has come from it and that’s how we should all think. One needs to be positive and always move forward, without hesitation, and remember that good things are always on the horizon.

This year has been a bit of a blur. I sold one car and bought two new ones, changed jobs, made success with Frantik (Whitecherry) and put Death Cap on the back burner whilst that was focused on. Next year I want to take both and make them bigger and better, so watch that space.

I have continued and focused on my workout regime. You can follow my fitness microblog there if you’re interested to hear my musings….

I am also still very involved with Club 85 in Hitchin and working with social media for Rhythms of the World. Music is still something I hold close to my heart.

I can’t remember much from 2012 so  I intend to make 2014 truly special.

Peace and good health to all,

Happy New Year
