End of year round-up

Apologies, a little belated. It’s been a pretty busy December and I’m just catching up. Having realised I hadn’t yet posted my annual round up post I thought it was time!

A lot happened during 2019, yet seemingly not a lot happened. Overall it seemed to go pretty quickly in the scheme of things.

It was the last year of my twenties for a start… where did that go? It’s been a big decade for sure. I’ve just completed the third year at Nasstar for a start, the first job I’ve remained for this length of time since the beginning of the decade when I started out in IT. The IT industry as a whole is a volatile and fast moving industry and up until now I have found it difficult to remain in one job — either because I didn’t wholly get on with the people I worked with — or there just wasn’t any room for progression.

I had owned my own house for 5 years, and I honestly don’t know where that went either. When I first moved to Northampton in 2014, I really didn’t know anyone else other than the people I worked with, and even then I wouldn’t really call them friends. It has been difficult and a lot of the people I used to know I don’t really speak to much anymore even though in reality I’m not far away.

On the plus side I did propose to my girlfriend (finally, as she might say) but she has made me very happy.

Moving on into 2020 I can only try and be better as a person and human being, to try and travel more, and explore the world more. Time to make my 30s a good decade.

I’m thinking of doing some whiskey reviews. If anyone would be interested in hearing more let me know.

Got engaged!

So, amongst other things to do on my week off work, I finally got engaged to my lovely girlfriend of over four years, Annabelle 🙂

Time to move on to the next stage of our relationship and make things a little more permanent!

More news and updates soon but for the time being we’re still all taking it in!

Short update for now but a good one — we’re all very happy.

Where did this year go?

This seems to happen every year. Christmas and Boxing Day comes round and we’re sat in that limbo between then and New Year where we come to reflect on what has happened over the past year.

Trying to remember everything is quite hard… the year has had some ups and downs, some positives and some negatives.

I’ve made lots of new friends in the car world, the fun and joy I get from tinkering with my ever ongoing project car (see Garage) and the lust for the sound of a spooling turbo is one only people who’re mixed up in the car world will understand (of which there are thousands of like minded guys and girls worldwide.

I’m also attempting to broaden my music knowledge and items on my music wish list are being bought as vinyl – (see Playing some vinyl)

I’m focusing on building my freelance work too, so if you or friends or family have a problem with your computer please get in touch or see my website for that stuff (Frantik/Whitecherry).

Family and friends mean the world to me but unfortunately as the internet strives to bring us closer, it seems that this alone is not enough. If you see me out and about say “hi” and I’ll aim to do the same! 🙂

I’d like to thank my girlfriend for sticking by me and my annoying habits for another year. The longer we’re together the closer we get.

All the best for 2019!
