I honestly can’t remember whether I’ve written about my experiences with dating sites or not, but I thought I’d write a little something now.

I have been a member of Plenty of Fish for some time. It’s a free dating site with a paid subscription service, but much more focus is on the free side. Many of the features are in fact available for free, search, “Meet Me” and full messaging facilities are all free. Unfortunately this also means that you get a lot of people who sign up to use it, give it a week, and then don’t use it. Many don’t remove their account again so this leaves searchable inactive profiles in the search results.
It also means many don’t take the site seriously. I have found some girls on there that were the right match, I guess you could say, but unfortunately it didn’t work out.
For the time spent sending messages and not getting anywhere enough is enough.

I have paid for a subscription dating site, welcome Match.com, probably one of the more well known subscription dating sites. Unlike POF, many of the features are restricted if you don’t pay. You don’t even get messaging functionality. So, this is a go. I’ve just bought into a year sub to a dating site. If I’m not married by next year I’ll sue them…. only joking… or am I?!

If you love coffee then you really need to check this company out. I now get a different bag of coffee sent to me directly each fortnight or so, and I’m finding it inspiring. I love the philosophy of this company, the way they work, the fact they still a relatively young startup but are growing rapidly.

They wrote a great blog post themselves, explaining why they don’t support fair trade. What many don’t know is that Fairtrade is an auditing firm; companies pay Fairtrade to audit their farms for safe and fair practices, and in turn farmers are guaranteed to be paid minimum wage.

Pact actually pay above the board to the farmers of the coffee that they supply, which also allows them to maintain their own quality standards. The company says that Fairtrade was a revelation when first introduced nearly 20 years ago, but times have changed, and more can be done running independently of this third party.

By cutting out the middleman, Pact are able to deal directly with the farmers and suppliers of coffee beans and able to support them and listen to their thoughts on the whole farming principle.

To get your first bag of coffee for £1 use the voucher code “LETSGO” or “HELLO” at Pactcoffee.com

Or so the old saying goes…. but it is certainly something I believe in. And what’s to go wrong when you are used to something already, used to a fashion or trend, or in my case a make and model of car.

Yes, yes, I have reverted back and now am driving another MG as my daily driver. The Audi is gone (drinking too much fuel), the Lexus I had as a replacement, really wasn’t an inspiring drive, so I was on the hunt for something that would save me money, on petrol and insurance, and bring the fun back to driving.

And what’s more to love than a mid-engined, rear wheel drive car, putting out 143BHP.

This is truly for the love of cars; the engine, the noise, the feeling of the open air in your hair. Who needs mod-cons, electronic safety assistance or things to interfere with the experience. This thing is back to basics, no nonsense motoring, and it is saving me money afterall. What’s not to love 🙂
