Why do I drive to see bands?

Or should I say ‘why do I drive further than normal’…?

I like music, very much. There are only a few things in life that come close, such as friends and family.

I like visiting new locations, and places where I may not have been before.

I also like my car a lot, and it’s pure pleasure to drive – and puts such a smile on my face wherever I go. (For info on my car click here – link)

Technology is also something I like a lot and when I drive to new locations I ‘check-in’ on Foursquare.

So there you have it, why be boring and go to the same venue, when you can go somewhere else and have an adventure. Make the most of life, I try!

Another night, another hotel – Hitchin Priory!

We were in town to attend Hertfordshire Metalfest and needed somewhere to stay the night.

I’d found a double-room available for £65 on LateRooms.com the night before so quickly booked it before it went!

Nice, comfortable, rooms… with enough facilities and most importantly a shower with hot water, the best bath towels and a comfy bed. TV not necessary but was good to have a few drinks and watch the tennis before heading out!

The breakfast was included in the price and was recommended also, very good.

It gets a thumbs up from me! Look at the Sun Hotel first though, as this ones a bit pricy if you catch it at the wrong time.

Kris Kristofferson – He’s lived!

I suppose, there’s not a lot I can say here. ‘Cept that he’s one of many prominent country artists lucky enough to play with Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson amongst others.. His musical and acting career has spanned decades, literally.

I think, to be able to have done that and been part of something amazing such as The Highwaymen as well is just top.

And of course he plays great music, watch the following vid and enjoy!

And remember – don’t forget to keep it country. If you’re into your country and western, or your folk music check out Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2. Legend that he is: http://www.bobharris.org
